What Is Custom Compounding?

Custom Compounding is a vital service that Compounding Pharmacies can provide, where pharmacists create medication tailored to a customer’s specific needs. Some common uses of custom compounding include:

  • Personalized Dose Forms, such as changing a pill into a liquid medicine.

  • Combining compatible drugs for easier medication management.

  • Removing allergens or unwanted ingredients from medications, such as dyes or gluten.

  • Adding flavoring so everyone can enjoy taking medicine.

Who Needs Custom Compounding?

Everyone can benefit from having their medication personalized. It can make taking medication easier and more effective than traditional pharmacies. Medicine should be made to fit each patient. It's that simple.

We have found that patients who benefit the most from custom compounding need care in these areas:

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

  • Thyroid Health

  • Mental Health

  • Pediatrics

  • Aesthetics

  • Pet Medication

Not sure where to start? Meet our pharmacists — they're here to guide you through every step.

Beyond compounding, Phoenix Pharmacy offers a range of additional services including weight management, medical-grade skincare, and holistic supplements to support your whole health.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Throughout our lives, our hormones change. Some of these changes can have unwanted effects, and sometimes levels for certain hormones can become too low due to a variety of factors. That’s why lots of people turn to personalized Hormone Replacement Therapy (also known as HRT).

At Phoenix Pharmacy, we work with you to make sure your hormone levels are in balance with your body. Ensuring you feel like your best self.

Thyroid Health

There are two types of thyroid dysfunction: overactive and underactive. Both of these disorders can cause numerous issues in daily life, ranging from changes in energy levels to intolerance to cold and heat to weight fluctuations. There are 2 types of thyroid hormones, T4 and T3, and commercial medications generally only address T4. We've found that mirroring natural levels of both hormones is more effective for treatment in patients with thyroid dysfunction.

Mental Health

Mental Health is something that requires extra care and support. Medication is usually an essential part of treatment, and it can take time to find the correct prescription and dose. At Phoenix Pharmacy, we take mental health very seriously. Pediatrics

Everyone knows the line, "A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down." Well, we don't believe in that much sugar, but our flavoring goes a long way to making medicine more kid-friendly.

When it comes to giving your child medicine, you want the best for them. You know how important it is that their dose is correct, that it's a liquid instead of a pill, and contains zero allergens. Through custom compounding, we can ensure your kid is getting medicine made exactly for them.

Aesthetics

Health can be beautiful. By combating skin issues with medical-grade solutions, you can achieve a healthy, natural glow. Through custom compounding, we can personalize ingredients to work on multiple skin issues simultaneously; some of the most common ones are:

  • Fine Lines

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Sun Damage

  • Hydration

  • Redness

  • Inflammation

  • Sensitivity

Pet Medications

Pets are important members of the family and deserve the same care and attention as any other family member. It can be challenging to get animals to take medication because they don't understand its benefits. That is one way we can enhance your pet's experience by adding flavoring or changing the form to make their medicine more palatable for them.
